| Competitive prices, quality and performance; these attributes have characterized Finishing Touch’s philosophy since its founding in 1985 when Rod Nicholas set up the company’s first showroom in Mill Creek Washington. Since that date, commitment to excellence and performance has lead to the growth of the company to include appearing on ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover, working with the Seattle Street of Dreams, winning 1st Place for Showroom Retail Display in Floor Focus Magazine and our current project of building our third store along with a design center in Mount Vernon Washington.
Rod Nicholas began as a carpet installer in the Washington D.C area. He moved to the Seattle area where he worked his way up to become the Vice President for a Lynnwood floor covering company.
Rod Nicholas Finishing Touch, Inc. was established on July 10th, 1985 with five employees. Currently it has 65 employees, over 120 subcontractors and still growing.
Rod loved life and has six beautiful children. He really cared about his family and the people he worked with. Rod and his wife Susan moved to Florida to semi-retire but still were actively involved with the company. While in Florida Rod became sick and passed away on July 31, 2001. In 2004 Susan moved back to Washington, and is running the company the way Rod would if he was here. |
