I would first like to say that my experiences with shopping for carpeting have been limited to a few stints at the local Home Depot. In all my (+40) years, I've only bought carpeting once (yes, from Home Depot). I will not go into the horrific installation experience I had for that single purchase but suffice to say that I was very reluctant to sign up for another carpeting ordeal. To exacerbate my reluctance further, we resigned to getting wall to wall carpeting for our 3 bedrooms simply because other options were to cost prohibitive.
